About Firekites
IntroFirekites is my personal space inspired by indieweb sites. This is an homage to early to mid 2000s websites and it's a place where I just collect things that I like and occasionally post updates about my life. English is not my main language and all of my other websites are in Spanish.
I've been using the nickname/moniker/domain firekites for almost 12 years now. My substack is firekites.info and my linktree is firekites.me.
Internet History
You name it, I've had it.Livejournal, Blogger, Vox, all the platforms. Wordpress, Textpattern, , all of them.
I started developing personal websites when I was 12. I started making simple sites like this and I ended up joining a thriving English-speaking web developing community. I made templates and sites from scratch, learning different syntaxes and playing around with all the different CMS.
Eventually, I settled for Wordpress due to is simplicity and ease of use and decided to stop playing around with code and to use my websites to publish written content, mainly cultural analysis.
Oh! I also loved internet forums and had a bunch of them, again, using almost all of the available platforms, with varying degrees of success.
